Terms of Use

Effective: October 12, 2026

By creating a Drift account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use Drift.

1. What Drift is

Drift is a mobile app that helps you trade real work for screen time. You earn minutes by completing tasks; those minutes unlock apps you've chosen to block via Apple's Screen Time API.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Drift. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done with your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email driftappcontact@gmail.com immediately.

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. The screen-time mechanic

Drift's blocking is enforced by Apple's iOS frameworks (Family Controls / Managed Settings / Device Activity). We give iOS instructions; iOS enforces them. We cannot guarantee:

Use Drift to help yourself, not to police someone else.

4. AI verification (optional, Pro feature)

If you submit a photo or text proof for AI verification:

5. Subscription and payments

Drift is free to use with daily limits (currently up to 3 blocked apps and 3 verified tasks a day). Drift Pro and Drift Family are paid subscriptions, sold through the App Store, that auto-renew through your Apple ID:

6. Beta access (TestFlight)

If you're testing Drift via TestFlight, you understand that:

7. Friends and social features

When you accept a friend request or send a challenge, you're sharing limited information (your username and today's screen-time minutes) with that friend. Be thoughtful about who you add.

Challenges are voluntary self-imposed penalties for fun. Drift won't actually charge or punish you for a missed challenge; the in-app "penalty" only affects in-app screen-time credits.

8. Intellectual property

Drift's app, code, design, name, and logo belong to us. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app while your account is active. You don't get to copy, sell, or repackage it.

Content you create (task titles, proof descriptions) remains yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process it as needed to run the app.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Drift is provided "as is." We don't guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that the app will meet your specific needs.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to Drift is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

We're not liable for:

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If we change anything material, we'll show the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before continuing. Continued use means you accept.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, US, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in New York state or federal courts.

If you're in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, those rules still apply where required.
